John, I played the best game of my life today! Honestly…. I think I may have “missed” maybe 5 shots throughout the whole match… I was hitting the ball so sharply and doing a lot of top spin (that sharp angle forehand was lethal!) Went down the line at will, volleyed great and was really aggressive through the whole match with a high degree of intensity.
So I wanted to thank you for that; you were in my head the whole match and I found it very easy to apply your principles once I was able to process them. I was psyched that I was playing so well, I can’t believe what you have done for my game in two lessons. You are truly, truly gifted as a coach! - Barbara A. Alba In all my 45 years of playing tennis, the instruction John DiMartino provided me with was without a doubt the most unique and dynamic. His outside the box teaching methods, not only produced excellent swing mechanics, but provides a student with a deeper understanding and insight into what the goals of the drills are, and what they designed to accomplish. This more thoughtful approach, is not only more engaging, it also allows the student to own this knowledge. It has allowed me to reapply these methods, even years after the lessons, whenever I might be struggling with my game. - Dr David Valen I have been fortunate to know John DiMartino for over 25 years since my first visits from South Africa to the United States as a young boy. During that time frame, a mentor relationship developed, not only on the tennis court but off the court. I was impressed by the foresight, perseverance, passion and dedication that John demonstrated for all his students, family and friends. Throughout the years that I have known John, he has been a Pioneer in his teachings, trainings and recommendations. Even though he was continuously challenged by “In the Box” philosophies, John was able to demonstrate strategies and principles that would in years to come, become widely accepted. - Marcello Mazzoncini |
John is a born teacher and coach, and the best tennis instructor I have ever worked with. His technical abilities are outstanding - he can quickly analyze what's going on, and use a variety of teaching tools to help me abandon my bad habits for more effective and powerful ones. He helps me understand why his techniques work - in a way that's easy to feel and execute.
What differentiates John from other professional coaches is that he also focuses on what's going on "in my head" when on the court. He helps me focus, and stop the distracting internal chatter that always hijacks my game. This dual attention to both "mind and body" has improved my tennis game beyond my wildest expectations. He's got a gift for coaching - he is meant to do this. He can, and will help you find your greatest potential. I recommend him without reservation. - Ruth Dubinsky I had the pleasure of being coached by John personally and also had him coach both of my children for two years. John is professional in every sense of the word. He knows the game of tennis and all of the psychology behind it. He is truly passionate about the game and the thinking behind it and strategy involved. He works so well with children and was able to relate to them and make tennis "fun" with creative games and reward systems. He understands what motivates people and how to work that in with increasing tennis skills. His advice about life and tennis is second to none. Anyone would be fortunate to read or learn about his work. - Stacy F. |
